Two Engines, One Purpose

I’ve been loving this deck while testing it for the last month, because it’s so consistent at gaining and maintaining card advantage while removing your opponents board presence. First is the Volcanic engine. Volcanic Rocket and Volcanic Shell allow you to search for Blaze accelerator reload and Volcanic Shell respectively. Reload can then pitch the V. Shell to draw a card, and once V. Shell is in the grave it can then be used to search for another V. Shell. Not only does it thin the deck but it allows you to draw into other resources to supress your opponent.
Next there are the Hands. Fire and Ice Hand allow for consistency by replacing themselves with their counterpart upon destruction. If that weren’t good enough when they go down they take an opponent’s card with them. Aside fron the extra deck these are the only monsters that get special summoned, which is important to note.

Increase Resources to control the board

Every card in this deck serves the purpose of increasing the amount of usable resources or supressing the opponents board and limiting their plays. There are many cards that either search or draw to maintain consistency:
Volcanic Rocket, Shell, and Blaze Accelerator Reload – This is the main engine of the deck so setting it up early is important. The good thing is even if Reload is destroyed it has a reliable effect in the graveyard and can still be searched out relatively easily. As a result Twin Twister is not as much of a threat, though it should still be taken into consideration.

Fire and Ice Hands – They replace themselves with the other only if an appropriate target to destroy is on the field. Still it allows you to slow down your opponents plays to maintain control of the board.

Royal Firestorm Gaurds – One of the most important uses of your turns normal summon. Royal Firestorm Guards lets you reset your Scattershots, Shells, and Fire Hands. You can also put Rocket or Doomfire back meaning you can discard them for Reload if you have to.

Magic Planter and Pot Of Duality – Drawing cards is always good and these spells let you do that in their unique ways. Do note if you activate Pot of Duality you CANNOT use the Hands to summon their partners in the same turn.

There are also plenty of cards to hinder your opponent:
Volcanic Scattershot – Instant Raigeki. Due to Reload being a trap it’s a Raigeki you can implement during your opponents turn. And being Pyro monster it can be reset by Royal Firestorm Guards.

Fire and Ice Hand – You get the jist by now.

The entire trap line-up is made to disrupt or completely eliminate your opponents potential plays. Deciphering when to use which cards at given instances is the tricky part about this deck.

Burn and Destroy!

Two words, Volcanic Scattershot. When discarded by Reload either from the hand or deck you have the option to send the two other scattershots from your hand or deck to the graveyard to destroy all of your opponents monsters. This is amazing because you can even execute this play on your opponents turn. Also Scattershot deals 500 damage to your opponent when it is sent to the graveyard which is important because that extra damage can allow you to win games without attacking.
Ceasefire is also an extremely important card because with the inception of pendulum summons it is easy to get huge chunks of damage off with ceasefire.

Let’s make this deck better!

As always I like to hear what you guys think! How would you utilize the concepts in this deck? What would you change to make it better? Let me know in the comment section below! Thanks for reading!

  1. hello,my name,is archie.this is the deck I will be taking it to nationals I qualified at a ots using it. It wrecks the meta and I’m a fan of blazing mirror, force the deck really is insane. I own it all high rarity because I love them

  2. I like your build, been looking for other Volcanic players online with original deck lists than the normal one. I myself run the volcanic engine with the Kaiju engine. If you’re interested I can give you a deck lists. As for critique for you deck, I’d say you should cut the fire and ice hand engine to two each, or at least 3 of one and 2 of the other to avoid dead draws. I know it might be expensive but try to add at least one solemn strike, it’s pretty mandatory now I’m the meta.
